Polymer and plastic granule transport
Coordinated dry bulk routes for suitable polymer products moving between the Benelux, mainland Europe and the UK.
Planning around the product
Plastic granules and other polymer products need a transport plan that starts with the material, not only the distance. We review whether the product is suitable for bulk movement, how it is loaded and discharged, the required equipment, and any product-specific handling instructions. Polyethylene (PE), polypropylene (PP) and other suitable resin products can have different practical requirements, so compatibility is checked before a route is confirmed.
North Sea Bulk Logistics BV coordinates the transport stages and works with appropriate carriers and handling partners for the movement. We discuss equipment condition, loading arrangements, access and timing with the parties involved. The customer should provide the product specification and any applicable cleaning or handling requirements so these can be assessed with the proposed equipment.
Benelux to UK and wider European routes
Our focus is the corridor from Belgium and the Netherlands to the United Kingdom, with suitable movements from elsewhere in mainland Europe reviewed individually. A shipment may begin at a polymer production site, distributor, warehouse or third-party loading point. From there, the route can combine a local collection, port transfer, North Sea crossing and UK final delivery.
For a Belgian loading point, our Belgium–UK bulk transport page explains how those stages connect. We can look at both spot movements and recurring volumes, with the frequency and lead time shaping the choice of equipment and sailing.
Road tanker, RoRo and container options
A road silo tanker may suit a movement where both sites can load and discharge the product in bulk. Depending on the route, a tanker trailer may travel with a driver or move as unaccompanied RoRo: a local tractor delivers it to the departure port, it crosses without the tractor and driver, and a second tractor collects it at the destination. The arrangement depends on port, sailing and equipment availability.
A suitable bulk or tank container can offer another combination of road, sea and potentially rail legs. We compare these options against tonnage, loading method, discharge facilities, schedule and the return of empty equipment. See road tanker and RoRo transport and intermodal bulk logistics for a closer explanation.
Handling and a useful first enquiry
If material is palletised or supplied in bags or FIBCs, specialist partners may be able to provide storage, pallet handling or transfer into a suitable tanker. This requires a separate check of product compatibility, facilities and availability. Our services overview covers the supporting stages, and how it works sets out the planning process.
Send the product, origin, destination, tonnage, frequency, loading and discharge methods, and dates through the contact page, or email enquiries@northseabulklogistics.com. We will review the route and equipment before discussing a quotation.
